2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the explosion of reactor IV at the nuclear power plant Chernobyl. This disaster continues to claim human lives to this day, and the Exclusion Zone has become a symbol of decline and destruction. However, the Zone is not completely deserted: Every day, workers rush in and out, young adventurers roam the surreal scenery, and former residents have returned to their old domiciles.
Our documentary draws a vivid portrait of these people and recounts their journey as they reclaim the area. Our focus is to ensure the disaster and its consequences will never be forgotten.
